Book Review on <The Murder on the Orient Express> by Agatha Christie

             A bestseller of all-time selling at least 2 billion books worldwide with her renowned Poirot and Marple mystery series, Agatha Christie wrote over 80 detective stories. And this book, perhaps, is the best mystery book that you could pick up in the ‘mystery’ section in a bookstore. With her exceptional writing skills in describing the scenes and writing a dynamic plot, this is a great page-turner, not letting you to stop reading the book once you have opened the cover.

             Agatha Christie’s synopses are always dynamic, and this book’s synopsis is beyond dynamic. Christie’s main character is Hercule Poirot. He boards the Taurus Express heading toward Istanbul. But soon, he gets a telegram from Mr. Bouc, Poirot’s friend, summoning Poirot back to London. Poirot boards the Orient Express, which was unusually full. Rachette is spotted by Poirot, and Poirot knows Rachette is the evil crime. However, next day Rachette is found murdered. Nobody, including the police, cannot draw the murderer from the given evidences. Then, Poirot is needed. I now cannot tell you the ending, but I can tell you, this is a dynamic reverse turn that nobody could have guessed. Read the book and feel the shock going through your spine when you find out about the ending.

             Agatha Christie’s vivid description of the picture added to the beyond-the-imagination plot makes a perfect combination. Your heart beats faster when a murdered man is found. Your hands shake when it is revealed how the man is murdered. Although the other books can make your heart beat faster, this book is a genuine book that causes adrenaline and remains in your brain for a long time. Every moment is dynamic, and the plot is beyond dynamic.

             A page-turner, this book surely deserves praise. I appreciate the existence of this book; this is an exemplary book in the genre of mystery. Books that make your heart beat faster; when they are solved in unexpected ways- they are true great mystery books. And this is absolutely one of them; and perhaps the only one.
